Mulumbu Injured - silverbaggie - 23-01-2015

I feared it!!

Mulumbu taken off during the first half of the match for DR Congo against the Cape Verde Islands.

Newspapers reporting that it's likely to be a hamstring injury.

Curse that b****y competition for costing us a player we desperately need to help in the battle against relegation.

Although I was looking forward to seeing the Mulumbu-Yacob partnership back, the fact remains that we've kept eight clean sheets this season with just one or neither of them in the line-up. It's a miss, definitely, but not a catastrophic one. Goalscoring is still our biggest problem area; if Saido does his hamstring, push the panic button!

Ska'd, if Saido gets injured long term, we are done for!
Ska'd, I am absolutely loving your book. Taking my time over it but am nearing the end. Balis is about to take that penalty! A really excellent read. I was at those home games against Red Star and Nottingham Forest in the spring of 1979. I thought the ref for the Red Star game was terrible, so biased. I think he was from East Germany.

Potentially looking a bit more serious, he was actually stretchered off with a suspected groin injury, just hoping it is not as bad as it sounds. He is due a scan today so hopefully more news later.

Glad you're enjoying it! Currently cobbling together a short video of the highlights from that 78-79 season to help promote the book (will probably do one for the 1960s and 1990s at some point as well); I'll post it up here when done, and let the nostalgia flow Big Grin

Ive never been a huge fan of Mulumbu, I would far rather see a pairing of Yacob and Gardner than Mulumbu and Yacbo/Gardner

Are you having a laugh?

Craig Gardner is a waste of space.

RE: Mulumbu Injured - wba_1996 - 25-01-2015

Mulumbu is twice the player Gardner will ever be. Hopefully after the transfer window we will see a midfield of: Sako - Mulumbu - Yacob - McManaman

Gents, that night against Red Star was horrible for me but more so for my old man. We came out having lost and the car had gone!!!! We had parked it down Halfords Lane near to a pub that is now the train station, just over the bridge on the left.I was 11 and remember my dad looking around for it. We had little money and he worked his roe out. It was an Austin 1800, cream in colour with red leather. I even remember the reg number HWV 154E.

Some memories eh?? We had to catch the 87 back to Dudley. Police caught the bloke a few months later but we never got the car back.........and you're right the ref was shit aswell Angry

I was gutted for my dad and we never had another car for years. All his tools went as well. Loved going up the Albion with my dad, still do but he's been in poor health bless him Thumb up

Rate Gardner but I'd prefer Mulumbu next to Yacob.
