Saint Mirren v Hibs, Sat 11 December, KO 3.00pm - 0762 - 09-12-2021

Another away fixture for Hibs in this busy and testy fixture schedule that one could never have imagined months ago. But the players and management will have to try and negotiate a recovery somehow. The pressure is gradually mounting on Jack Ross after tonight's "nightmare" result that many Hibs fans like myself suspected would come to pass. Lotsa Hibs fans "calling him out" towards the end of this game re the unacceptable nature of winning very few Scot Prem matches in months and, as usual, losing to another lower league/2nd bottom  team that never won a match in six outings. Ross Co anybody?? Hibs playing the Buddies this time without McGinn and Hanlon, both stupidly red-carded and suspended! Thumb down Note Doidge is not match-fit either and it is time JR acknowledged that fact and stopped fielding him in any game until he is match-fit - so glaringly obvious when watching games! JR's record v Saint Mirren is vg. However, I think this upcoming match v them is gonna be more challenging even though their form has waned in the past month. He'd better get his formation/player choice right because I perceive that his time with Hibs is gradually "running out" and his player options are limited, particularly Magregor playing in a CB position although I believe Gogic has played in that position before. Should he opt for "three at the back" v a team that has a goal-scoring issue although they do create scoring opps? IMO we need a result, a case of "all hands on deck" and a high work ethic - a shocking position for a Hibs team that shouldn't be in this situation btw! Hence the pressure on Ross and no wonder! C'mon Hibs! Start playing properly!!!!!!! Plus Nisbet and Boyly - "GET THE FINGER OUT" FGS - NOT PERFORMING WELL ENOUGH!! Thumb down

To be quite honest, Jack Ross' time has already run out. And I sincerely hope that if we manage to get 3 points on Saturday (11th), it doesn't result in him keeping a job he's clearly not capable of doing to a decent standard. But, still ....

Yep! I agree! You know only too well that I'm not a fan of Jack Ross and never have been Ritchie. IMO his "steady Eddie" approach has saved him and kept him in situ. But I was never convinced and it's nothing personal. He seems to be a decent enough guy and I'd luv to see him "turn things around" and win something. Sadly missing certain key attributes to be a really "special" manager.

St Mirren and Dundee coming up - we need back to back wins going into the final.

We've all seen the problems with Ross's approach and the squad, even when we were doing well. One week to save himself, but if you have lost the dressing room there is usually no way back.

Ross already "shown the door" Jim! Prompt action by Ron Gordon? See my OP re breaking news!!

RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Sat 11 December, KO 3.00pm - 0762 - 11-12-2021

FT 1-1 and Hibs leading until the last 3 mins of the 90 mins - all well until the 87th min and they've gone and done it again - conceded another unnecessary goal and lost it to none other than the guy who is a serial scorer against Hibs for Saint Johnstone and Saint Mirren - Shaughnessy AGAIN!!!!! Any knowledgeable Hibs fan would've highlighted his goal scoring threat well before this game started and esp with mins remaining to hold and pick up 3 valuable pts. To make matters worse, every other result has gone against Hibs this afternoon - Aberdeen won in the final quarter of their match - note they did it successfully Hibs (although the only goal of their game v Saint Johnstone was massively controversial - a clear hand ball to gain an advantage and strike the winner!!) and now 4 pts ahead - we can't overtake their position even if we beat Dundee next week!!! Thumb down Ross Co beat Dundee 3-2 Thumb down Livingston, also below Hibs, win 0-1 Thumb down Another awful afternoon and again Hibs strikers posted missing (IMO offload Nisbet in a January transfer if poss - scorned another "sitter" FFS!!) and no goals coming from them as usual!! Thumb down In summary, a good afternoon's work, compliments of young Campbell finally scoring a well-taken goal, totally ruined in the dying mins of a match that Hibs should've had enough control/discipline to "see out" when ahead by one goal and them desperately "chasing the game".

RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Sat 11 December, KO 3.00pm - hibeejim21 - 12-12-2021

Last 25 mins was truly awful..... We are so vulnerable to Crossballs and so lacking in goal threat it's laughable.

We are in real bother here and we need to get the manager situation sorted out for midweek.

RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Sat 11 December, KO 3.00pm - HerefordBull - 12-12-2021

Agreed Jim, however perhaps if we had got the additional experienced centre half and striker the fans all called for in the last two transfer windows things would be different.

Have a concern over Doidge in that he wasn't quick before but got by, however if the achilles has slowed him anymore he is going to struggle. Did my achilles last year and I'm certainly not as sharp now. Big Grin

I've never been totally sold on Doidge but there is no doubt he has been a big miss. You are right about our transfer dealings as well, it wasn't all down to Ross as the squad was never strong enough. In a lot of ways he did pretty well with what we had at our disposal but between that and his rather weak style its finally fallen through.

That criticism fittingly leads to the Mathie transfer scandal in which the man in charge of transfer ops didn't do his job properly, a total f### up, and consequently lost his job after incurring the wrath of Ron Gordon!!
