Tommy Craig has been sacked as St Mirren manager despite his chairman still considering the 64-year-old "one of the best coaches I've ever seen".

Player-coach Gary Teale will take charge of the team on an interim basis with the Buddies sitting second bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Tommy Craig was one of the first Wednesday players I remember seeing when I first started attending games in the 70s. Ironically he has been replaced by another ex-Owl in Gary Teale!!!

Forgot Teale played for Sheff Wed, Didnt expect the Buddies to be doing quite this bad theyve a few names in the squad familiar to the English leagues in Teale, Stephen Thompson, Isaac Osbourne and Gregg Wylde.
