Not much positive to say about this game, although Robins Manager Michael Duff described it as probably our worst performance of the season.

My concerns over Tom Pope were ill founded as he started on the bench and didnt get on the pitch until the 70th minute.

Certainly there were only three shots on target all game and two of those were from the opposition.

Alfie May might have increased his goal tally quite early on. An excellent cross from Sean Long just evaded him at the far post. If he had made any sort of contact it must have gone in from only 2 yards out.

Vale did have a penalty awarded just before half time but, this decision was reversed after consulting the lino who confirmed that the ball had gone out of play before the Vale player was upended. A corner was rightly awarded instead. An anticipated howl of protest from the Vale fans ensued.

My man of the match:-   The referee for me, Scott Duncan who was very strict and hardly missed anything. Unfortunately, the Vale fans will not agree but, just look at the fouls tally to take my point. He even booked someone in Vale's technical area but sadly, the game finished with handbags all round with Alfie May squaring up to one of the Vale players.

Onwards and upwards.
