What do people think we need in January?

What do think we will get?

What do you think is the most important for promotion?

I will start

A striker who can get 10 goals, a midfield organiser and to keep Diangana.

A striker on loan who falls short of 10, Austin filling the shortfall, a defensive midfielder bought and Diangana staying. Ferguson will be sold, so a new defender bought as well from level 3. Harper out on loan, and Field out on loan to a level 3 club so he gets game time. O’Shea signing a long term deal plus Louie Barry given loads of abuse for signing with the Villa.

Can I request two things Diangana to stay and Diangana and Pereira to stay injury free. (Or is that 3 things!) ?

Josh you can put the names to the positions!
We had a £18 million surplus on transfer dealings in August, BUT we have called in some money from the Dawson transfer - this tells me we have little or no money for transfers.
Because of this I don't see us buying anyone, maybe a token loan to appease the fans. Assuming we have set aside £8 Million for Pereira - £10 million has disappeared unless i'm missing something?

As we are the top scorers in the division - scoring goals is not an issue?
Diangana is essential and I have explained before he makes us tick. If he goes back, he has to be replaced - or it will be a repeat of when Barnes left.
A group of players drained of confidence, hands on hips all looking at one another on who was to blame for the latest balls up.
A leader / motivator is what we need - Ollson / Flectcher / type who can see who is lacking on the day and get them going.
It appears we have to wait for half time before we can wake up.
IMO this is last chance of keeping a squad together who can compete for promotion, we must save £25 million on next season's budget.
That's sell £25 million worth of players, (Pereira - Ferguson - Phillips) with Brunt & Barry finished, I can't see us being a force again.

I would also expect Bilic to walk at the end of the season if we don't go up, he wouldn't want to work under those circumstances.(lose players and no little or no money to buy replacements).

It really is becoming a S or B season. Sure we will still be alive! but competitive with the big spenders - I can't see it.

Sorry Blue but cannot agree with you about Bilic leaving if we don’t go up. If we buy or not he new this was a two year project to get us up, ive  heard is is pleased with the present squad and there could be one or two changes depending on outgoings. Why fans keep bringing up net money, it would not bother me if we didn’t spend F all,the squad we have now has proved it’s capable and I believe they will stick together and get us promoted then the hard work starts.
Yup, I'm in the wba13 club, not with Blue.... I think most of what our team and club is about is now positive, for the first time since probably the days of RDM.
NO gloom & doom here!!

It's a time will tell - if we get up fine. If we don't go up and players have to be sold with no money for quality replacements - we will see what Bilic does.
If Diangana stays we go up - that's a given. I've been partying for weeks i'm not wasting time fretting  Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
I think we need a left back, defensive midfielder and winger at a minimum. A striker (Pierre Yves-Hamel from Lorient) if we decide to loan or sell one of our current strikers.

Defensive midfielder has to be a Yacob type of player. We have ball players in Sawyers, Barry and Brunt and all rounders in Livermore and Harper but no actual sitting player who can make our midfield more robust when we need it.
having seen most games this season
have to totally disagree with Blue(sorry bud)
A Striker Yes...but do we really need one when most of the side are contributing to our goals tally?
defence has been mostly solid...could need a slight tweak
but on the whole rather pleased with the season so far
entertaining to watch, and personally would not have it any other way
Slaven is here for the long haul
he will make mistakes..part and parcel of management

we are playing some of the best football in years
granted we have had a blip last few games
but 2 defeats so far indicates we are on the right track
Another point here can’t see there being a big sell off if we don’t go up , we got rid of al the big earners over the last 2 seasons. All the players left would have bought into what Bilic is doing . Foster, JRod,Gayle ,Evans Dawson and Rondon + others probably refused flex down and were sold.

I see your reasoning, let me putting it another way so you can see where I'm coming from.
We have circa £35 million parachute payment this season - i'm sure you agree that's correct.
we had a surplus of £17 million on transfers in Aug.
But we have had to ask Watford to give us extra payments on the Dawson transfer last week.
This indicates we have little or no money for purchases now,
I will deduct £9 million put aside (I hope) to pay for Pereira that still leaves a balance of £43 million and it looks like its all gone.
So come next season the parachute drops to circa £15 million
Can anyone explain how we run a club with £37 million less then we have now. (minus £20m para and £17m transfer surplus)
If i'm the only one who can see what's coming if we don't go up so be it.

Of course if we go up, were solvent again for a few years.
We didn't ask for extra money we sold it on to a Australian debt collectors from what I read.
Apparently a lot of teams do this now instead of waiting for the cash,
It's not extra money, Watford will just pay someone else instead Thumb up
