This is a league match that I am not looking forward to at all and I wonder how many Hibs fans share similar sentiments after watching weeks of a manager who doesn't appear to know what he wants from a Hibs team that always seems to be unbalanced and defensively weak! As said in other threads, they are also dull and boring!! That has to change quickly. The Steelmen are a decent footie team that also has a physical dimension to it which I fear Hibs can't handle. The first thing I'd like Hecky to do is PLAY SCOTTY ALLAN IN HIS TRUE MIDFIELD ROLE AND GET THE BEST OUT OF HIM!! It maybe too soon but I'd like to see the return of Ryan Porteous in a quest to shore up a defence that is losing too many silly goals. Try to strengthen our full back positions and, more importantly, lets focus on setting up a balanced midfield formation that is effective and can consistently compete collectively throughout a game. Is Hallberg fit enough to start this game?? Lets play him if he is match fit!! We desperately need to get the midfield "ticking over" properly!! Whether Hecky is the man to solve these pressing issues is anyone's guess!
I've seen Motherwell this season and they are really nothing special, we should be going there and getting the 3 points.
Dreadful result. More goals shipped, lucky it wasn't more too.

We played some nice stuff in patches but the organisation and motivation just isn't there. The players don't seem to know where they are meant to be in midfield and sorry but hecky just isn't an inspiring manager, his changes today were baffling again (oil punted out wide FFS) and were at the wrong time. Again his post match interview just showed him to be a complete xxxx slaver.

Tactically I'd question pitting Whittaker against such a fast young winger tae, he got absolutely rinsed the day. Jackson was awful, Middleton isn't any better than what we have and slivka was completely anonymous.

We have some time now with the international break so we need to sort things out and fast. I'm starting to worry about the hertz game, and that's even with that clown levein running them into the ground.

Nothing much to add to that brief summary of another poor Hibs performance apart from the fact I knew 100% that we were gonna be beaten and prob be well beaten this afternoon - highlighted in my OP with no optimism whatsoever with this inept manager in place. As you say Jim, an absolute "slaver". I was very surprised that he never pitched Hallberg straight in to this Hibs team because we are clearly in a crisis with a pitiful midfield set up and a back line that is in dire need of protection from the mid area. Rocky outstanding and again averting a 5-0 or 6-0 thrashing!!! THIS WAS TOO EASY!!! Also Hallberg is reckoned to be the fittest player at ER Stadium on the testimony of certain players who have trained with him!!! So what does that say about Hibs training regime and coaching staff eh?????? There was a moment in this game in the 2nd half when the score was still 1-0 and Hibs were a awarded a direct fk just outside the M'well pen box in a decent position. Now normally Stevie Mallan or somebody with "real authority" would "step in", wanna take this kick and try to skelp the baw past the defensive "wall" and past the M'well goalie!!! They ended up passing the baw in some bizarre move that fizzled out embarrassingly into nothing!!!! That summed up Hibs in a nutshell - crap and rudderless with no leadership on the pitch. I notice Leeann Dempster still defending Heckingbottom's position and nothing will indeed be done as expected!! All will come good says Leeann - I don't see it Leeann and my formal letter of complaint will soon follow in my capacity as an irate shareholder!! We move to the next defeat v KIliie as this manager has no answers to the probs we are observing on the pitch on a weekly basis - nothing will change!
In my opinion, Whittaker is a liability as a defender - he's well past his best - but still a half-decent midfielder. As has already been said, nobody seems to have any confidence or conviction in what they're doing most of the time. Heckingbottom won't last until November if this keeps up.
Whittaker was hung out to dry by hecky the day.

Looking at the run of games we are facing Ritchie is right, he won't make November at this rate...he might not make October! The style of play we have is absolutely awful and you can tell he doesn't have the players confidence.
I'm a veteran Hibs fan and shareholder and can honestly say that I have seen many "duds" in my time watching Hibs in decades and decades of Scottish footie, some great times and some bad times. I must say that I find Hecky to be very similar to a certain Hibs "dud" called Colin Calderwood who I actually challenged after a Hibs AGM a long time ago re a number of team issues and tactics. He was a very nice chap but I finally perceived within 10 mins that he was not gonna be at Hibs for very much longer and sadly, I was proved right!!
Lennon showed today the value of being able to get your players up for it.

Hecky take note.
Absolutely but also Lenny set up his Hibs teams to make them hi-press with pace and also difficult to beat but "pleasing on the eye"! Has Heckingbottom satisfied any of these pre-requisites??? He needs to carry out wholesale changes before the Killie match and stop being so cautious in games - looks like he has no real belief in any line up that he fields. One thing I'll say in his defence is it is another season when injuries have "killed" us in certain positions and areas of the pitch but there is still a decent team to pick from the remaining squad of players - he doesn't look capable of overcoming the probs!! Therefore he has to go but when? After the Hertz match in a game in which it is a case of "save yourself and do something" or "fall on your sword"? Come to think of it, it wouldn't surprise me if that game ends up as a boring draw as lotsa Hertz fans are also lining up to protest against Levein at their next home fixture!!
Think he could learn from Lennon the day, a lot of managers might have cracked after the Cluj game but he has came through it with a couple of great wins and some solid 'back to basics' type performances.

If hecky loses the derby I think he will be in a really tough place but to be honest I can't see our board acting this early on. They will look on his results at the tail end of last season as justification to give him to xmas but as you point out that was mostly with lennons team and he has brought in his own now undoubtedly - so time to deliver.

Injuries to Boyle,Mcgregor and Gray haven't helped but we still have enough about us to be playing better than what's being served up currently. Use the time off from the international break well please hecky !!!
