Decent scoring this week by most despite few having any faith in WBA on the Gamball. Matt rises back to the top with 19 points after a few dodgy scoring weeks. Nothing spectacular from him, missing the Gamball and a CR on the BB cancelled each other out but he managed to score points on 8 of the 10 games!! In 2nd place is Zinman, Mr Consistency at the moment and without going back to look I think he has been in the top 3 for each of the past few weeks!! Of course he didn’t play his Gamball but he did pick up full points on his BB.

In third this week is Amelia with 12 points, is this the start of a push to claw her way out of the relegation spots, certainly a tough ask but if she continues to get spot on Gamballs like she did this week then you never know!! In 4th was St Charles on 11 points, scoring on half the games in the process.

The next 3 predictors were tied on 10 points, Derby, Sanjay and Snooty. Snooty and Derby missed the Gamball, Sanjay bottled playing it but that saved him 3 points as he was one of the ones with no faith in the Baggies anyway!! League leader going into this week was BBB, but a lowly 8 points will see him come under pressure for top spot, he inexplicably forgot to play his Scoreball this week, could that potential point prove vital in the run in!!

The bottom 2 this week sees Beefy on 6 points, a drop off to his pre-Xmas levels for him and Worldclass with another disappointing week on only 5 points. Worldclass actually scored points on half the games but missed out on all his balls to cancel out what could have been a solid week.

Cheers

Step forward our 4th occupier of top spot this season. Zinman, a point back last week surged to the head of the pack and immediately opened up a 9 point lead over BBB who vacated pole position after 8 weeks there. Is it coincidence that our new leader has only  played 6 Gamballs out of 25 and is even in credit up to now.

SCO  closed the gap on 2nd to just 6 points and also increased his advantage from his nearest pursuer in the shape of Beefy in 4th whose momentum gained in recent weeks showed signs of faltering with a lowly return this week.

Climbing 2 places into 5th and closing the gap on 4th to just 3 points was Matt who deserves a special mention having missed a couple of weeks, but could be getting back to the form he showed in the early weeks of the season. Well done mate  Thumb up . Derby keeps the pressure on in 6th only a solitary point further back and still capable of mounting a late season push up the table.

Same goes for Sanjay, who although dropping a place to 7th is still bang there within a decent weeks score of at least a top four place, while Worldclass lost some vital ground and is another whose recent upturn in fortunes appears to be hitting the buffers back in 8th.

Similar scores for our bottom 2, but nothing gained as those above them either matched or were within a point or 2 to leave Amelia 9th and Snooty 10th and fast running out of weeks to stand any realistic hope of avoiding the dreaded drop.

Firstly many thanks to our favourite whale for filling in for me while I was enjoying my mid-season winter break - yes, Beefy does have his uses.

I may have been away for a couple of weeks but things don't really change - Albion keep winning away games, Villa keep losing, Big Dave is still "clueless" and Joker's prediction struggles continue. However it does appear that the Championship players have improved with a very high scoring week, helped by Beefy's match selections.

Quantum - aka Mr Consistent - heads this week's table with an impressive 22 points from 8 correct result predictions. Once again, Quantum benefited from his decision not to play the gamball and produced his best score of the season to maintain his march to promotion.  Bomber claims second place despite  showing a disgraceful lack of confidence in the mighty Baggies   Whistle  -shouldn't have wimped out of the Gamball! .Twerton comes in third place despite losing points no the gamball and Themaclad won't have damaged his promotion charge with yet another double figure week.

Stairs, Baggie_One and 4eva had decent weeks but still couldn't climb above mid-table, and then came Joker. To be fair, 7 points represents a better than average return for Joker but in a high scoring week it wasn't enough to move him from his established normal position holding up the rest of the table.

Is it too early to say that our top 2 are away and out of sight in the automatic promotion places?. It certainly will be if they keep banging in weeks like this as Themaclad posted yet another excellent score and tops the table by 11 from Quantum who recorded a seasons best to at least keep some pressure on our leader.

Bomber sits in what could be the most sought after place in the table over the coming weeks, 3rd, which will give a place in the end of season relegation/promotion play-off. The lead over Twerton though is only 3 points as the 2 returned decent weeks scores.

Stairs moves up a place into 5th and is certainly close enough to still have a say in the apparent race for 3rd, just 10 points off it, while 4eva and BaggieOne are only a further point back in a share of 6th despite losing a little ground on those above them this week, though all 3 passed the 200 point mark for the season this week

Joker looks to have bottom spot nailed down and suffered an increase to the deficit he faces to sit nearly 70 points adrift.

Taking a very basic look at the table ..... if we didn't lose points on beefy's balls I would be third, my minus 57 is only beaten by jokers minus 60 ..... damn beach's balls .......
The championships high scoring week is shown in all its glory by the fact my 11 points would be fourth place in the prem this week instead of second bottom in the championship ..... promotion off the rails .... hope of reaching the play-offs now as slim as villas ....
Damn Beach balls Laugh
