Now use the subs 2 - 0 will do for me
Bolton will throw the sink at us now

Sako with 4 minutes to go brilliant - i thought we could use 3 subs

Got last sub on in 93rd minute nearly missed it.

MoTM has to be SJ a clean sheet and great saves when called upon.
Pretty poor affair if I'm honest, but glad for the 3 points.

We need reinforcements if we're serious about going up. The win papered over the cracks tonight. Bolton missed chances and we didn't create much.

We're really desperate for a midfielder who can boss the game and a creative forward to replace Barnes.

I'm not a Robson Kanu hater by any means, but he's far more effective coming from the bench than he is starting. Our midfield tonight is nowhere near good enough to mount a challenge. Harper showed glimpses and can play, but he needs to be eased in because the game often passes him by. Excellent goal by Field, but didn't see enough from him overall.

Obviously we have Livermore and Phillips (hopefully) to come back, but we need more strength in depth because that side will get turned over against anybody half decent.

Not sure why Hoolahan wasn't introduced for Kanu, as our midfield was getting dominated second period. He would've been another cool head in there to put a foot on it during what was more like a game of ping pong. I must say, Moore's reluctance to change the formation is concerning. But when you win, it's hard to criticise.

Tbf we did have Livermore, Phillips, Morrison and Brunt all unavailable, granted some of those absences should be expected by now but it's still a lot of midfielders to have out.

I agree we didn't play well and those performances won't do against most teams, certainly everyone we're playing in February, but I can't see us playing that poorly again.

We're still very close to the top of the league, the clean sheet might boost our defenders a bit and the youngsters are playing and scoring, so we can take cautious optimism from that game.
Well not sure what to say as it was pretty dull
Without Barnes and our injured players we still lack pace in the middle
Sam Field erm does OK but not much yes he scored but does what Brunt does really.
Harper by far the better player and is doing really well in the middle.
Not sure how we kept a clean sheet and in the first half I was wondering if Dawson was trying to get himself sent off.
Saying all that with the bad weather , stoppages for injuries and protests it must have been strange to play in that atmosphere.
So all in all a job well done, massive improvement needed we have some huge fixtures coming up soon, February is massive Confused
We got the 3 points and struggled at times, 4 3 3 is a gamble away from home.
2 - 0 was a good result on paper although we have SJ to thank for a clean sheet.
Harper and Field got game time which can only be a bonus for us as a squad.
Bring back Bobby Gould

I'm sure he was deaf, he got some verbal all the time and never batted an eyelid.  Big Grin
As we are exiled Baggies in Scotland, me and Joe got to go to the game. You will all have watched it on Sky but it was a decent turn out by the supporters considering it was a wet Monday night in Bolton.
I’m a big Brunty fan but I thought him going off did us a favour - although Sam Field wasn’t outstanding tonight, he brought more of an urgency and a willingness to go forward. Agree with the comments on Harper, whom we both thought was excellent and those on HRK who was bloody awful. In the absence of Phillips, I thought BD might have given Lekona start as we were desperately lacking in pace. Come back Harvey Barnes, all is forgiven. I don’t think we played well and we’re fortunate to be up against a poor and dispirited Bolton team. Play like that against Stoke, Middlesbrough and, dare I say it, Villa and we’ll struggle.
Should also say we chatted to some Bolton fans at the pre match protest; I really feel for them - a great traditional pub that’s been fu*ked by a wretched owner.

Sorry “pub” should read “club” ??
