Watching from the outside it must be very hard work being a Newcastle United fan
A huge club in the way of stadium and local support but with a rich owner who refuses to put his hand in his bulging pocket to even live with the EPL small spenders

In Rafa Benitez , they have a tactically astute manager with an excellent record of success although his football is hardly "Free flowing" , yet due to conditions at NUFC his contract runs out at the end of the season and he`s likely to walk away

Even if he loses every game, he can easily shrug and say "I was never backed"

Newcastle`s best players are Shelvey and Lascelles, NUFC supporters are right in thinking if a good bid came out for the latter Ashley would sell straight away

Fernanandez, Dummett, Ritchie are all dependable , great strength in depth in goal but dare I say the likes of Villa and WBA have actually stronger squads than a team who finished 11th last year
Ashley must be taking a huge chunk of money out of the club every season!!! The revenues far outstrip the spending and since he took over always have done. If he truly wanted to sell the club he would have put some money in to retain their PL status and give him a chance to get top dollar for them, but he hasn’t done that for ages. He has appointed the best manager they could hope to ever get and he is banking on him being able to buy a few places by having him, therefore preserving the club as a cash cow for his business empire!!
