Aberdeen have signed defender Michael Devlin from Hamilton Academical for an undisclosed fee.

Devlin, 24, will continue his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury at Pittodrie and could return to playing in March, having been out since May.

Meanwhile, Derek McInnes' Dons have rejected a third Hull City bid for centre-half Scott McKenna, 21.

"Derek McInnes didn't have to sell the club to me," Devlin told Aberdeen's website after joining until 2021.

"As soon as I heard of Aberdeen's interest I couldn't wait to join the Dons to hopefully win trophies and play regular European football."

Happy about this, right age, decent player and well done on keeping a promising young Scots player in Mckenna in Scotland for a bit longer
McInnes trying to add a bit more strength to his defence but with a player who has been badly injured and is still unavailable. There is an element of 'risk' attached to this signing and, if Devlin was so good, he would have been approached by other interested footie clubs a lot earlier than now TBF.
Decent prospect.
PNE were after him, I have trust in McInnes judgement not been a great number of flops since his arrival
Shinnie would be better at LB given Considine`s display against Rangers, too long have Dons have the SPL version of Paul Dumett playing there
With McLean now at Norwich a bit more steel in midfield would be nice
