Leeds Utd launches a new club badge at lunchtime and by 2pm there are more than 9,000 signatures petitioning against it!

The badge appears to be of a white man with his arm across his chest. It has been been described as Mussolini-esque on the radio and in the twitter storm that ensued its launch. Sexist and racist spring to my mind.

The club claims to have consulted 10,000 fans but none contacting Radio Leeds seem to know anything about it.

As an outsider, I think it confirms what the rest of us assume most of their fans to be.

They've nicked it straight off a Gaviscon bottle.

There's one doing the rounds with Jimmy Saville's head loaded onto the body and Newcastle have one were man hits horse, power of the internet eh!!!!!!!

Thats just a horrible design!! I don't see it as being racist or sexist particularly, just a really bad design with absolutely no message or club motto or anything on it at all!! Can't see that lasting very long!!

It was the Leeds fans themselves that brought up the fact that it only represents white men. They also complained that it looked like kids had been let loose with clip art.

According to SSN, the number of signatures is up to 40,000. Didn't know they had that many fans (who can read )!

I don't think it represents anything really, and that is the problem from a design perspective!! I suppose they were trying to depict a player banging the crest on a shirt like you see players do sometimes but its just a crap design!!

Maybe you have hit on something here!! The reason why it has no words or motto or anything that might need a few brain cells to read or understand is because the average L**ds fan struggles with concepts like reading!!!

They claim that the pose is a Leeds Utd thing and that's how they greet each other. I think the entire board have had a mental breakdown. Unless this is just yet another delusion. They have plenty.

Bizzare!!! I bet they would love to know who the 10,000 people they consulted were?? Must have been fans of other clubs out having a few beers and a laugh!!

Well, there were certainly none of theirs ringing in to admit it on the radio so that's the only conclusion you can come to!
