So the dust has settled on what was a abject performance on saturday, town struggled to get any impetus in the game, with multiple players having off days, whilst burton managing it well, albeit in an dour way.
However, there is a short time to dwell on it and a quick turnaround as norwich arrive to the bright lights of the john smiths stadium to play in front of the sky cameras.
It'll be the second time this season that the two have faced off in front of the cameras. The first round saw town run out 2-1 victors. Elias kachunga scoring after 5 minutes. The lead lasted less than a minute as former scum midfielder jonny howson equalised for the hosts. Kachunga doubled his tally just before half-time, with the terriers holding on for the second half, although it there was a few nervy moments, but whats a town game with a few of those?
Going back to saturday, town seemed to lack that zip that the likes of palmer and brown offer, how we address that without rushing them back is beyond me, although getting payne to stick further up the pitch rather than dropping too deep to collect the ball maybe a start.
Wednesday should see kachunga and wells both return to the lineup, whilst billing or even hogg will come in for whitehead. I'd expect norwich to actually try and play football, so there should be more space for town to play in, they probably wont try to break and delay play as much as burton so it could be a far better game to watch. We still need to score mind!
As for the visitors, they are still managerless with former sheffield wednesday gaffer alan irvine in caretaker position. They dispensed with the services of alex neil earlier in season. They are also set to appoint judas webber as director of football, but deano is dragging it out, hopefully he cant pass information on. Rumours are its going to be a hefty compensation fee to get him to carrow road and he's going to take uwe rosler from fleetwood with him as manager.
They also suffered defeat, going down 2-0 away at aston vanilla, kodija bagging a brace, whilst norwich saw pinto sent off in the final ten minutes. Norwich too dominated large parts of the game, leading on possession and shots, but they too were unable to make a decisive breakthrough. It could be a case of two wounded animals trying too hard to score on Wednesday however, they have plenty of players capable of scoring world class goals. Have a look at the highlights of their game against forest from earlier in the season.
They definitely have players to look out for;
Russell martin- the Scottish international is a solid defender and could probably player at a lower end premier league side.
Jonny howson- the midfield pulls the strings for the side and has an eye for goal as many sides have found over time
Alex Pritchard- the diminutive midfielder slots into the pockets between attack and midfield much like izzy Brown, so we could really do with hogg marking him as billing doesnt have the discipline to do that job.
Cameron Jerome- huddersfield born striker will want to get one over on us. Has often blown hot and cold over his career and some would say never achieved what he could have.
In other fake news, some webshites and toilet rag the daily fail suggest that two 'agents' 'representing' david wagner are trying to move him on to 'bigger' and 'better' clubs in both the premier league and bundesliga.
Think we can consign that to depths of the web and to fish and chip paper (we can do that anyway with the daily fail)
Rightio, over to you lovely bunch of cretins
Can someone tell me which photos have not worked?
