The only people who will care about that are the Hull fans!! The other 19 premier league team owners are sat there smiling at the prospect of a team not spending to keep up, makes their survival in the prem a little easier!!! This guy is the sort of owner I really never wanted to see in the English game, someone who wants to ride rough shod over the traditions and history of the club and game! Yes, I know he owns them and in theory can do as he likes to a point, but respecting the fans and the clubs heritage should be above that!!

And threats won't get him anywhere either!!

"Now we want to shorten the name to go global - like Coca-Cola, like Twitter, like Google. You will never make it if your name is Hull City Association Football Club Tigers Ltd. You will never make it."

This statement says it all to me!! He expects that by calling them Hull Tigers he can propel them to a global brand in line with Google or Twitter???? The guy lives in cloud cuckoo land!! The biggest club in England, and one of the top in the world, Manchester United, have one of the most generic football names in English football, but it hasn't stopped them from becoming a global brand. The name is not what makes the brand, its the quality and performance of the product you put out!!!
