Monk wasn't the manager last August, he took over after the transfer window had closed.

I'm glad he will never defend again for us but it's sad we can't bring out potential in any players because there where glimpses that he could pass a ball better than nearly all the team at one point and he wasn't afraid to run at players either ..but he's gone or going or will just fester ?
