OK several clubs in the Football league including several in the championship are voluntarily going to apply the new BAME rules next season this is the British version of the Rooney rule that has been in effect in the USA for some time

contrary to popular belief and misinformation by opponents of this rule it does not, i repeat DOES NOT demand quotas for minority coaches in the football league

the Rules basically say that if a Club has a coaching/ managerial ( uefa A/B license required) vacancy that thy advertise for applicants that they must interview at least one qualified candidate who is a minority if they apply

INTERVIEW not hire
IF THEY APPLY , if a minority candidate does not apply then there is no interview
also the candidate has to be properly qualified , they have to have a UEFA A or UEFA B qualification not qualification they do not have to be be interviewed
Spot on MNT. If I am remembering right it also has had a negligible effect on minorities actually getting positions in the NFL as well.
I don't believe it's that much of a problem myself.

Now Sky Arts are reporting on the lack of black Prima Ballerinas in this country.

They should look at the EPL. Plenty of them there, pal. Big Grin
the effect in the NFL is different to measure as you cant be sure how many minority coaches would get the job if the rule was not in place , one effect it did have was to get Tony Dungy the job in Indianapolis , and he built one of the best teams in the modern era and won the super bowl
