THE MATCH - TUESDAY 8TH MARCH 2016 7.45PM KO

Struggling for time this weekend, so this thread will be short

This will only be the 31st meeting between us with our record being W13 D12 L5, so while a small sample of games we have a distinct advantage over them down the years.  Our away record against them is average at W5 D4 L5 and we are currently unbeaten in two games down there after winning last season 1-0.

Obviously this record is a consequence of them spending most of their years in the lower two divisions, in fact we have never played them in the top flight and they have only spent 5 seasons up there anyway.  Of course for me anyway, the most important game we played against them came at Highbury in April 1983 when they beat Big Jack's team 2-1 in the FA Cup semi final, a defeat that hurt a lot as it was my first FA Cup semi, but it was also a sign we were on our way back!!!

THE ROAD AHEAD

Suspended for one game, will return against Forest!!

THE LAST MATCH

We don't do easy do we??  A poor result after a slow start but still a game we should have won.  Under par performances from too many, missed chances and close refereeing decisions all led to a bad defeat.

OUR TEAM

Still no FF, and maybe still no Hutch.  Nuhiu should be dropped, lets try Joao up top with Hooper and Matias behind him.  Midfield looked tired but we have to stick with the best we have - Lee, Bannan and Wallace.  The rest will probably be the same.

Wallace Lee  Bannan

Hooper Matias

Joao

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Ref - DARREN DRYSDALE
Assts - Matt Foley and Robert Hyde
Fourth Official - Keith Stroud

Maybe we should be paying much more attention to this section based on the last few games!!!  MS, give us everything you have on this guy!!

Difficult to predict CC's team, particularly for tough & midweek matches as he made a lot of changes at Boro & Hull.

He tends to pick Palmer for the tougher away matches & might bring Bennett back as well. He said that Hutchinson will be fit but who knows?

Westwood
Palmer - Lees - Loovens - Bennett
Bannan - Hutchinson - Wallace/Lee
Hooper - Matias
Joao

The Bastard in Black is Darren Drysdale from Waddington, Lincolnshire. He has issued 60 yellow cards & two red cards from 26 games so is one of the more lenient referees. His main claim to fame was when Dean Windass got a five game ban for swearing at him in the car park at Bradford. His record with Wednesday is:

Aug 13 - Rotherham 2-1 OWLS - 5Y 1R (sent off JJ)
Nov 12 - OWLS 2-1 Peterboro - 2Y (gave us penalty)
Mar 12 - Leyton O 0-1 OWLS - 1Y
Sept 11 - OWLS 3-0 Exeter - 4Y
Mar 06 - Wolves 1-3 OWLS - 3Y
Sept 04 - OWLS 1-2 Chester - 1Y (FLT)

Overall Record: P6 W4 D0 L2

Generally a lucky referee for us. He allows a certain amount to go unpunished but will give a red card when warranted.

However the 4th Official is PL referee Keith Stroud (Hampshire), who sent off FF at Preston.
2-1 Lee
