THE MATCH - MONDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2015 5.15PM KO

[Image: 175px-Middlesbrough_crest.png]    v    [Image: 150px-Sheffield_Wednesday.svg.png]

Strange kick-off time for this one!! Usually you see these games either at 3pm or at 7.45pm but I assume this one is dictated to the clubs by Sky. The benefit is I don't have to get up too early and the game in live on tv over here!!! Big Grin

This will probably be our toughest game so far this season, Boro are flying at the top of the table and in their last match they inflicted the first defeat on Brighton, easily winning 3-0 at their place. But we ourselves seem to have found a bit of form, albeit for just 2 games but it is much more encouraging for us!!

This will be our 106th meeting with Boro and our record is pretty even but this fixture sees less draws than most of our others at W46 D17 L42.  Our record against them at their smoggy ground is not so good W10 D12 L25, although we are unbeaten there for the last 2 games!! Last season saw us put in one of our best performances of the season, with us 3-0 up within the hour before two late pens saw them come back a bit. One of those rare games from a scoring perspective from us, Nuhiu got a brace and May got the other - didn't see that too often did we!!!!

LINKS BETWEEN THE CLUBS

Big Jack Charlton is the main link between these teams. Big Jacks first stint at Boro saw them promoted to the top flight before he left them and came to manage us where he got us promoted from the 3rd to 2nd division. At both clubs he stuck to his word and left when he said he would, although he may have been able to take both teams further had he stayed.

I am sure there are other links between the clubs, if you know of any please feel free to mention!!

THE LAST MATCH

Another very good home performance and easy win over Brum. FF is on fire in front of goal and it seems we are playing much better with two starting up front rather than just the one. No video as its not up yet!!!

OUR TEAM

Nuhiu replaced Joao up front, I expect them to reverse roles for this one. Westwood not in the squad on Saturday so not sure what to expect there. Hutch will no doubt play at CH again, can he take this many games on his knees or is playing CH maybe a little easier for him?? Not sure who else CC may rotate, personally I would like to see the players keep playing in a winning team and let them have a rest when we play Fulham in the Cup. Aside from that I would like the team to look like this:

Westwood

Hunt  Loovens Hutchinson  Pudil

Wallace Lee  Bannan

Forestieri

Hooper Joao

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Ref - DAVID COOTE
Assts - Billy Khatib and Wayne Grunnill
Fourth Official - Scott Duncan

MS will hopefully give us the skinny on this guy in previous Owls games!!

Cheers SCO. No messing about getting this one up, eh? Smile

This one is a real test isn't it? we go into this on the back of two good wins. 'Boro however, play a very tight back line and rarely concede.

2-2 Fessi, he's on fire atm

The Bastard in Black is David Coote from Nottingham. He was in the news last week after he gave Birmingham a penalty when the ball hit the Cardiff defender in the face. Our record with this clown is:

Oct 12 - Burnley 3-3 OWLS - 2Y
Dec 11 - Walsall 2-1 OWLS - 3Y
Feb 11 - Carlisle 0-1 OWLS - 2Y
