Newcastle caretaker manager John Carver has been sacked along with coach Steve Stone, BBC Sport has learned.

Carver, 50, took charge for the final 20 games of this season following the departure of Alan Pardew to Crystal Palace, but won just three matches.

He was a complete disaster!! Wasn't helped by the attitude of some players and an owner who doesn't appear to give a shit, but he was so far out of his depth at that level. Some of the comments he made were laughable, others you just had pity for him that he even said it in front of a microphone, but above all else he had no plan A, let alone B, C, D, etc etc!!

Thing is he is probably a good coach, but this spell in charge of the ever demanding but unrealistic Geordies may see him slip out of the game for a while.
