Today sees the start of the preliminary rounds of the FA Cup. We've had the qualifying extra rounds, now we're into the real thing.
I shall be following one team all the way to Wembley and that team is going to be Brighouse Town. They play in the Northern Premier League and today they are at home to Ashton Utd.

Come on the Town.
Not going all the way losing spoilt it
So we go on to follow Ashton Utd in the next round after they won 2-1 at Brighouse this afternoon, with a winning goal in stoppage time from Ashley Young.

1st preliminary round: Brighouse Town 1-2 Ashton Utd

They can get back to tending their crops now.
FC United beat Prescot Cables 4-1 today.
The big improvement to the FA Cup would be if they really did have a hat for the draw. I'd love to see Geoff Hurst plunging his arm into a giant hat to pull out Mangotsfield away to Carlisle United.
