THE LAST MATCH

Well we all thought we would get hammered but in the end we put together one of our most spirited performances of the season to gain a draw at arguably the best team in the division!!  SG got his tactics right, putting 5 in midfield, maybe, just maybe there is something other than 442 in him after all!!  

Lee got another goal, we definitely need to improve our scoring record from midfield and defence so that was good to see.  It was also good to see Buxton swing in a great cross for the Lee goal, something we have sorely missed while he has been out.  Has Buxton played well enough to get a new contract, probably not for me but you never know!!




THE MATCH - SAT 25TH APRIL 2015 12.30PM UK TIME

Ok, so at the start of the season this is probably the fixture that we most look for to see when it is.  Was surprised to see it as the last home game of the season when they came out.  Is this a rivalry or even a derby match?  Whatever you think, this is always a game we want to win, probably because a lot of their fans are scum, probably because they travel in good numbers to S6 and almost certainly because of the Kirkland incident a couple of years ago.  Of course any L**ds fan will tell you their one and only rival in Man Utd, a team they haven't played in the League for 11 years and where the rivalry is completely one sided!!!!  Deluded as well as scum!!!

In our last 10 home games against them we have scored 6 twice so it would be nice to add another to that list!!  Our overall record against them is W30 D24 L35, so fairly tight but in their favor.  Certainly they are there for the taking having lost 5 on the trot and the whole club seems to be lurching from issue to issue - fun for all of us to watch!!! Remains to be seen how many players decide they are injured this week!!!


CLASSIC MATCH

Only really one to show here, definitely a classic but not in the sense of it being old as it was only last season but it was such a satisfying win after the problems the season before!!!

The Bastard in Black this week is Robert Madley, one half of the notorious Madley brothers from Wakefield (bit too close to Leeds for my liking). He was promoted to the PL list of referees last season, is a FIFA 5th official and is Referee Development Officer for the West Riding of Yorkshire.

Our previous record with this bastard is:

Oct 13 - Barnsley 1-1 Wednesday - 3Y

.......and that is it.

He has a record for being rather liberal with his cards, particularly his red one. In his first PL match in April 2013, he sent off three players in the Southampton v West Brom match.

It has been reported that he watched Leeds Utd as a boy and this will be his first time refereeing them so will be interesting to see if this affects his judgement.

one win vs Brentford and a draw vs Bournemouth so far under this meggo  I'll keep posting it until we lose  lucky elbows might make a return as well for this game, just for that little extra luck
