Well it's back to ER Stadium after a vg display at the PBH in which Hibs could well have picked up the 3 pts in the last quarter of the match v Hertz. I watched the tv highlights of the Buddies home match v the Tangerines and their defence looks fairly solid, but United showed enough attacking moves to tell us that Hibs can definitely score goals with the right tactics and use of pace on their flanks and through the middle of their defence. I think Boyly could have a "field day" v that defence. It looks like Hibs will be bolstered by the return of some absent players. Lets hope the guys are motivated to push on to them and ensure our unbeaten record is intact at the end of this match. C'mon Hibs! No complacency please!!

Another of those games you feel we have enough to win. Don't know whether JDH will still be isolating but even if unavailable we should be OK.

Lets hope the right Hibs turn up and secure another 3 points. Thumb up

Saturday 3 o clock kick offs........ Hopefully good weather, and a good chat with some of the lads in the pub beforehand.

We should be putting St Midden away.
Additionally, at a time when the big game atmosphere was recently debated, Hibs introducing 4 x big video/tv screens at ER Stadium tomorrow to add to the match experience. This was Ron Gordon's idea at Hibs last shareholder attended AGM way back in Feb 2020 just before the dreaded pandemic hit the country - finally installed and set up. Lets see what unfolds to entertain the fans on these big Hibs media screens.

FT 2-2 and Hibs top of the Scot Prem tonight, but a real f### up in not jumping clear of the 12 pts mark after Scott Allan coming on just before the hour mark and playing his part in changing the course of this match in Hibs favour and on course to pick up a hard fought 3 pts. Doig proving again that he is a defensive liability on headers and getting "pelters" on Hibs SM tonight. IMO he should be moved forward to compete for a left midfield/wing position and remove him from that defensive role. We watched this defensive frailty last season and culminating in that conceded winning goal to Saint Johnstone in the Scot Cup final - NO IMPROVEMENT AND WE'VE WATCHED A DREADFUL CONCESSION OF AN EQUALISING GOAL IN THE SAME MANNER AS BEFORE!!
Aye 0762, they seem to be coaching Doigs attacking flair out of him and forgetting to show him how to defend the back post.

A very flat performance both on and off the park and some would argue we were fortunate to get a point. Seems to be everyone was sitting back just expecting the 3 points and forgot we have to fight for them!

Played better for 20 minutes after halftime but apart from that we were not at the races. They marked Boyle out the game really well.

We have an inability to be able to control the game when ahead and naturally the opposition are pressing us more. The number of wild boots up field in the last 20 minutes to no one, I lost count of. Their second goal was coming and no more than they deserved. Haven't read Goodwins comments yet but I suspect he may be a little disappointed with only a point.

Our lack of depth on the bench especially in the striking department was glaring today. Nisbets control reminded me of Kamberis last games for Hibs, with everything bouncing off him and losing possession. Surely Gullan would have been worth a gamble otherwise why do we keep him?

Allans ball for the equaliser was delightful and it was good to see a Hibs player lift his head to look for the run and then play it perfectly.

A lotta folk saying some Hibs players tired out after last weekend's derby commitment? They had six days to recover and so early in the season too!!! Also it was a perfect day for a game of footie and with Hibs unbeaten and in decent form up to this game. No excuse for that! You do the biz on the training pitch and choose the best players available to take on a team that still hasn't won a Scot Prem match this season. Even before this game started I could've pre-warned every Hibs player that Brophy and Shaughnessy were the main threats to be aware of, Shaughnessy particularly from set piece attacking positions and scoring the odd goal with his head - he has done it before at ER Stadium with Saint Johnstone!! Rolleyes With a few mins remaining in this match, I'd expect every Hibs player to be primed on this info and fully focused on protecting their 1 goal advantage - THAT'S WHAT DECENT SIDES DO DEFENSIVELY AND DO IT CONSISTENTLY EVEN AT TIMES WHEN THEY POSSIBLY DON'T DESERVE TO WIN CERTAIN MATCHES!
Could have won but could have lost. These are the games we should be winning on a regular basis if we have the ambition to knock Rangers and Celtic out of their comfort zone. Once again we seem to lose our way in securing a win against "lower" teams.

Jim Goodwin was certainly bending the ref's ear at the end. Penalty decision?
Aye Ritchie ..........think he thought Porto played for ours ( possibly) and that Saints should have had one of their own ( we were right in line and think they had a good case when Hanlon clashed with Main?)

Didn't think he would be happy Big Grin
May I just add there were two real crass decisions that were "pivotal moments" which definitely affected Hibs winning this match - one by the referee, Clancy, and one by Martin Boyle. Magennis in the 1st half was clearly impeded in their pen box and it was a pk "all day long". The guy also had a handful of Magennis' jersey and if we had VAR operational in this game, the pk would've been awarded to Hibs after reviewing the incident. And Martin Boyle's offside "tap-in" on Porty's great goalbound header - WTF was that kinda dumb decision-making all about eh???? F####### awful and a great lack of awareness as well as being a greedy bastard trying to score another goal, but messing up big time and denying Hibs a vg legitimate goal!!! Thumb down When Hibs are pressing on to teams like Saint Mirren, they are still a very dangerous side even though they didn't dominate the game as well as they can.
