Well it was the semi-final draw that I preferred and how prophetic was my wish in the Hibs v M'well OP. I reckon their defence is made for Hibs forwards to potentially run amok in this semi-final and I'm not fooled by their vg result v the Dons as I reckon that match was a tactical nightmare by their new manager, Stephen Glass, who didn't have the appropriate players to suddenly change his defensive formation to accommodate a strategy that they were not accustomed to playing. Bring it on!!

The S*n reports that the Cup winners will get a minimum of £3m from European football next season and the EEN says that Martin Boyle will be available to play in the semi-final. Let's hope they're both right and Hibs can take full advantage.
This is going to be the best chance we wave had in years to win the cup now that the biggest threats, Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen have been eliminated. However there are still dangerous games ahead and it would appear that Hibs bogey around the Scottish cup semi finals needs to be exercised. A good team performance and a little good fortune could see us through.
Aye! I'd welcome dollops of fortuitous moments, incl favourable ref decisions (just look at some of the shit ref decisions at Rugby Park on Monday night!!!!), after watching some of the previous unlucky events that marred Hibs other semi-final appearances. Also Jack Ross must try to emphasise that converting good scoring opps is imperative in taking control of these kinda matches.

Much of whether we win is going to rest with Jack Ross, he needs to get it right tactically and the team needs to manage the game properly. It's been an issue all season.
I've said this in previous threads that if Hibs still had John McGinn in our midfield, we'd be in a very strong position to manage and defend any advantage we have in tight matches. The club sold that mid strength for a good deal of money and that deficiency has been self-evident in the big matches that we have lost. One can see it in Hibs midfield with a mixture of poor commitment and a lack of temperament and "battling" qualities - easily identified when the "going gets tough".
I was very impressed with Ali Mccann of Saint Johnstone the other night - cracking player.

Believe he started off at hutchi vale.
If we play them in the Scot Cup final, JR must deploy a partial man-for-man strategy to stifle the threats coming from certain areas of their midfield. I have no doubt that we can beat them and I base that judgement on that f### up of a 1st half v them in the League Cup semi where they were so f###### lucky not to be two or three goals down by HT as Hibs dominated that 1st half. Hibs usual failure was the lack of that prolific goal scorer who would make such a massive difference to the team's efforts in the final third of the pitch.
