Well the matches are arriving "thick n fast" but unfortunately Hibs are losing most of them although a bit "hard done by" v Rangers on Wed night but still didn't play particularly well again. We play opponents who were thrashed 1-5 on the same night and well shown up by a rampant Buddies team that normally doesn't score many goals. Therefore one would expect Hibs to head up to Tannadice and try to "rub salt in their wounds" while taking advantage to finally lift morale, score a few welcome goals v a really dodgy defence (and a dodgy goalie!) and gain a valuable 3 pts in the process. We need to "break the mould" and get back to winning ways!! I hope Newell is fit enough to return because I reckon his high work rate and effort in Hibs midfield has been sorely missed - prob our best player in the past couple of months! I'd like JR to drop Gogic and opt for a hi-press strategy v a team that I regard to be inferior to Hibs. However, the guys have to still earn a victory and not just expect it. Our defence looks to be more secure than of late. So it looks like the dependency is on what happens "up top" where certain players really need to regain some kinda positive form and score goals. Otherwise, the downward spiral to a lower league position will continue. C'mon Hibs!

There won't be any "easy" games left for Hibs this season because teams will identify our soft centre and attack it at every opportunity. We certainly were hard done by against Rangers, but still nowhere near convincing. On another night, we could have lost 3 or 4 goals, with Rangers through on a one on one situation against Marciano on at least two occasions.

Boyle out for me, he's an expensive luxury and one of the non-triers. That's him down for a couple of goals on Saturday, then!
Like many clubs, Dundee U. will set up to defend in numbers, frustrate us and look for a spot of Shankland magic or a set piece goal. We have shown that this season we struggle to break down this type of defensive attitude...........the first goal will be all important.

I always feel we often give a good account of ourselves against Celtic or sevco as both attack which in turn gives us more space to play. Wednesday showed us playing a bit better than in previous matches and , as Ritchie said, put us in a "hard done by" game but the final result was still correct and if they had finished one or two of their other great chances then the scoreline would have been a lot worse. Dundee United won't be so gung ho in their approach unless we can go one or two up.

'mon Hibs we need a big result so lets see some application and fight for the cause .

A battle on a sticky pitch but 3 points is the most important thing after a 0 . 2 win. Thumb up

Officials at their usual Scottish best including an obvious handball against Doig. Doh

Porteous and Nisbet didn't get to play so their move saga must still be going on.

On to St Mirren now who are flying at present having beaten Smeltic today.

FT 0-2 and at last Hibs get back to winning ways!Thumb up Narrowed the gap on AFC to 1 pt but seriously should be well up on Celtic's position (lost 1-2 to Saint Mirren this afternoon!) if it hadn't been for shit/biased refereeing in recent matches!! Darren McGregor's opening "thundering 1st half strike", his 1st goal for Hibs in a long time, very welcome indeed to give Hibs the lead and Boyly finally did something positive in scoring from a good set up from Irvine who had a very good performance today with 2 x assists. Rocky also back to decent form in denying United with a couple of good saves. I think that is us unbeaten at Tannadice in four visits. I normally travel for that fixture and the last time in Feb 2020, the Scot Cup tie, I unfortunately contracted COVID-19 like quite a few Hibs fans who were crammed in on that Sunday afternoon when we drew 2-2. Anyway, job done and that negative sequence of shit results finally stopped as requested in my OP.

I just knew that Boyle would score today! I've always liked him - a quality player. Whistle Big Grin
Maybe somebody finally "had a wee word in his ear" Ritchie and it finally "sunk in" tae his brain lol! Laugh
I need to slag off Boyle more too....clearly. Laugh
