I notice Hibs second choice goalie, Barnes, recalled back to QPR. I must say I don't think he'll be missed by many Hibs fans although he didn't get many opps to show how well he can perform for Hibs first team. My initial perception of him was a positive one after the match at Ibrox. However, in the following games v the Staggies and the Lions he didn't do enough for me to be greatly impressed TBH. I have a hunch that Hibs were happy to see him on his way but JR still needs an experienced back up goalie to replace him.
In my opinion, we're still waiting on a replacement for Marvin Bartley. Losing him was bad enough, but to lose Mark Milligan at the same time was a double blow. It wasn't Jack Ross' fault, but it's up to him to sort it out now. We definitely need a bit of steel in midfield (among many other positions).

Hanlon and Stevenson are beginning to struggle against younger and faster opponents, so we need cover for them before it's too late.
We said it at the time, we should have done more to get Ambrose back.
Think Gogic was brought in to fill the "hardman" defensive midfielder position left when the other players mentioned left. Still has work to do to prove he is the right man for the job and needs to work on his distribution once winning the ball and breaking up the opposition play............quite often he gives the ball straight back through a poor pass.  Doh

We actually meed a complete spine to the team starting from the goalkeeper through to a good goal poacher.  Huh

Unsure on Barnes..........I know he let 5 goals in against Ross C. and Livi but I would class 4 of them as poor defending in front of him caused by schoolboy errors by at least 3 of our back 4. Doh

GGTTH
One thing I'll add re Barnes is the fact he didn't send out that indication of a great "presence" that is required for that goalie position. I've watched many good and bad Hibs goalies down the decades and the best ones earned that respect because they imposed their ability and subsequent "presence" on the team whereby the defenders in front of them gained their trust. My transfer moves (if we had the clout and money to do it!) during this month would be as follows: 1. Try to sign Guthrie and Bartley from Livingston 2. Take Laidlaw back from Ross Co 3. I'd love to bring back Griffiths to take up Hibs CF position - obviously highly unlikely; therefore "sound out" Jason Cummings to take up a new challenge at HFC 4. Take Alan Campbell off Motherwell FC's hands. 5. Offload certain Hibs players who a) only play when they feel like it b) who are not of a good enough standard to play for Hibs. I think most of us know who they are.
Correct 0762 with regard to the Goalkeeper "presence" . It helps the back 4 if they know they have a solid keeper behind them who will take charge and organise them as required.

One of the worst displays was the Celtic keeper in the final v Hearts the other week.........no wonder their back 4 struggled !
That final really exposed the difference between a rookie goalie and a highly experienced goalie who is a top performer in his profession.

With the signing of Macey and the recall from loan of Dabrowski it would appear that Rocky is either offski or is out long term injured.
Yep! The timing of this event was really unwelcome to be frank about it. But the club just needs to mitigate for this prob.
Hibs have made a move for Campbell of Motherwell who is on his last six months of contract.
