I must say I'm delighted to hear this latest news from the club because it had become very clear that Hibs current scouting and development of young talent was not very impressive when observing some of Hibs youth dev matches!! In years gone by, our scouting and development structure was fairly decent and we were developing some reasonable quality players from a fairly young age. For example, Lewis Stevenson was nurtured from 13 years of age and is now the longest serving Hibs player at the club. Saint Johnstone's Wotherspoon is another more recent player who Hibs developed from a young age and somehow decided to disown to the benefit of his hometown club. Of course there are many other very good players who Hibs discovered and nurtured to very successful careers and we need to return to this high level of successful development in order to progress properly. I didn't believe we were doing this at the moment and I think some senior people at the club shared that same view and appropriate action has been taken to hopefully redress the problem.
