Onward, onward rode the five hundred, into the valley of death they thundered (apologies to Manfred Mann)

Our final five fixtures are as follows:

5 - Saturday 27 April, 2024 – St Johnstone (A) – 3pm kick-off

4 - Saturday 4 May, 2024 – Ross County (A) – 3pm kick-off

3 - Sunday 12 May, 2024 – Aberdeen (H) – 3pm kick-off

2 - Wednesday 15 May, 2024 – Motherwell (H) – 7.45pm kick-off

1 - Sunday 19 May, 2024 – Livingston (A) – 3pm kick-off

Not quite 500 miles to travel in the next month, but it will be the valley of death if we don't get a grip and show how good we can be. Each of these teams, even surely-relegated Livingston, will be keen to prove they are better than us and our form gives them every reason to believe.

Ever since NM called sevco the best team in the country their form has went down the crapper Laugh Its almost like the Huns statement accusing Dundee of incompetence and lack of integrity backfired badly on them.

Two wins in their last 8 games and both against us. Embarrassing how we cant compete in games with them or sellick. Other clubs with less resources have got results and at least given them games. We are so,so far away from where we want to be.

I've got zero interest in these remaining games. That club statement is acknowledging that we are heading back to stage one again with another "review of footballing operations". Absolute jokers. Whats the point on putting pressure on the manager to win these remaining games now ?

The only thing i would say in defence of NM is that we have been on the end of some unbelievably incompetent refereeing decisions this season and we likely would have finished top 6 without them, but his and the clubs silence on that front makes it easy for the officials.

Not good enough hibs....on so many levels.

The statement from the Directors that jim refers to-

"Like all Hibs supporters, we believe that a Club with our stature should, as an absolute minimum, finish in the top six. Ending the season in the bottom six is simply unacceptable.

In the aftermath of Saturday’s draw with Motherwell, we came together to understand what happened this season and what are the necessary steps to move the Club forward.

With that in mind, we will conduct a full review of the Club’s football structure in conjunction with Black Knight Football Club. The review will be a comprehensive evaluation of the entire football operation to ensure we perform at the highest level.

We have also held detailed discussions with Nick Montgomery to understand what has gone wrong during the current campaign and mutually agreed that results this season have been disappointing. There’s an understanding that results need to improve.

Considerable progress has been made at the Club off the pitch over the last 12 months. That being said, we want to assure supporters that on-pitch progress and performance are at the forefront of our minds. We understand that this needs to be addressed urgently and the experience provided by our new partner, Black Knight Football Club, will help us improve in all areas.

Lastly, we would like to thank every single one of you for your support through this incredibly challenging campaign. Your backing has been unwavering, and the Club is extremely grateful. We will continue to work tirelessly to deliver results our supporters can be proud of.

Hibernian FC Board of Directors"
