Biggest Championship underachiever ? - turkeydinner - 04-11-2018

Perhaps a few fans on this board might like to input here? Whistle

The top two currently are little spending Norwich City and Sheff Utd

Fueled by a BBC article on WBA`s current bump, perhaps the biggest team in the Championship yet not going smooth the last few games

Nottm Forest, two time European Cup winners, massive pre-season spending and hardly blasting into space

Derby County are another massive one, sure they are up there but have underachieved for years given resources used

Leeds United are potentially the biggest, although transfer wise they hardly are in the laegue of the others

Aston Villa have the best squad by miles and sit just above mid-table, EPL squad in mid-championship

Stoke City became an EPL mainstay but look like going nowhere but must be worrying about that wages bill

Sheff Wed, best ground outside the EPL? Going somewhere or nowhere fast?

Blackburn Rovers, only EPL winning side in the Champiosnhip

Does this make it the best and most interesting Championship year ever or are there some sides who seriously need a boot up the rear to go with the fans expectations?

All I can say is they have all under achieved - but Forest, Derby, Leeds, Stoke, Villa & Blackburn have invested in their squads in an attempt to strengthen for the promotion challenge. WBA & SW haven't really invested anything - made some changes with cheap buys and it shows as everything is a struggle.
Sheff Utd, Norwich, Bristol City & Hull have gate crashed the party with a  bunch of unknowns. Hence the top half of the table is unpredictable.
