In a dramatic end to a footie match, Celtic undone in the dying secs to lose 2-1. IMO not a surprise if one had viewed the Celtic team that started this game. Lotsa 1st pick players missing and this game was always gonna be testy enough on that awful artificial pitch even with Celtic's strongest line up! Lotsa possession for the Hoops but continuously playing from left to right and right to left does not win these kinda games - not enough penetration up front! No coincidence either that they lost right after a keenly fought Euro match v Rosenborg on Thurs night. Deja vu!!! However, it is still a minor setback that Celtic have experienced before and particularly during Euro group periods! Too many Celtic fans getting a bit "carried away" during what is still an early part of the season and that artificial pitch is still bloody awful, a real "leveller" TBF!!

Really odd team selection and comments afterwards from rodgers. There is definitely something wrong behind the scenes at celtic. I remember lennon's comments about us being 'a boy band' and i thought a bit of that applied the day.
They have been lucky that hertz didn't win on saturday and sevco have had a slow start. Sorting things out shouldn't be beyond the means of a manager of rodgers ability though.

I must say there are some signs that Rodgers may well "walk away" at some stage. He has always dismissed this kinda talk, so can only take him on "word value". Dunno what to make of it!

Celtic's official statement today definitely a show of defiance and unity after the criticism of Celtic's worst start to a footie season for a long time.

Could be that Rogers is a bit pi55ed off at the lack of movement in the transfer dealings of the board. He wanted McGinn and they would not pay Hibs valuation so he went to Aston Villa where he has become a big hit already. He would have transformed the Celtic midfield and Rogers must be feeling badly let down on that one.
With the fantastic support and income Celtic have it should be a formality that they qualify for the group stages of the Champions League and push for the last 16 every time.Rogers frustration will only go on for so long before he looks elsewhere.

I think that is exactly what we are seeing behind some of Rodger's comments. I don't think all is well behind the scenes at the moment because of the lack of quality signings. Be interesting to see if any decent sized PL teams come for him once the firing season is upon us!!

Celtic are financially in a very strong position, adding the dembele fee and they have 50 mill plus at their disposal. Why they were arsing around over a valuation for mcginn just doesnae make sense and suggests lawwell is meddling with footballing affairs and has put rodgers 'nose out of joint'. We've seen it at hibs too, those kind of conflicts quickly drip down to the dressing room.
I think the players sense that rodgers might be for the off and its showing in their performances.
