Jonathan Smith - bluepooch - 18-09-2018

3 month loan from Stevenage ,31 year old midfielder.Apparently played against us for Swindon in JPT Final.
Another signing expected.

31, just what we needed more geriatrics failing in League 2.

So much for the young and hungry players he talked about last week.Another player seemingly over the hill.
Is it desperation time yet ? ! As I type he has finally decided to offload Weir and Barry .The same Weir who he made captain a month ago !.

Someone said to me the only dull times under MA are between 3 and 4.45 on a Saturday !

Can somebody put their foot in the revolving door just for a minute, please? I`m getting dizzy here!

I agree, Blue; Saturday afternoons may be a bit grim, but the rest of the week is bloody entertaining. Reversing decisions you made a few weeks ago can make you look a chump or it can make you look decisive - or possibly a combination of both. Time will tell which one wins out.

RE: Jonathan Smith - Devongone - 18-09-2018

Smith looks as though he might have a tackle in him which is necessary, but he's been around a lot of blocks and come back from a double leg-fracture ........

Weir, well he always seemed like just another bits and pieces man in midfield, who really didn't do anything really well. Barry if he were truly capable of playing right-sided midfield and right back would be good cover in a small squad, but he's provided precious little evidence of it.

You can't say MA isn't acting, it's just that he probably shouldn't have opened his mouth so much in the first place. You can say these things if you're a fan on SportsBabble, but as club manager? He's littering the place with hostages to fortune.

Joe Wheatley of Darlington and Percy Kiangebeni remain my midfield suggestions and Mattie Briggs from Dorking as a goal scoring winger. (I've been causing trouble over Ricky German and Joe Rowley on Bob's, can't resist it.)

I assume this is cover for Weston? Wasn't he injured Sat?

RE: Jonathan Smith - Devongone - 19-09-2018

Weston was injured, but if we wanted cover for Weston would we be putting Weir up for transfer ......? Unless someone else is coming in.

You need more than a programme on Saturday afternoon, you need an ID parade.
