This was a well contested match which started in unusual circumstances when Brazil's FB , Marcelo, seemed to suddenly 'fall ill' and became disorientated - a worrying sight! He was duly replaced and here's hoping he makes a full recovery! However, Brazil were undeterred by this and survived a few Serbian attacking 'scares' in their pen box. Eventually another efficient 2-0 win was enough to win the group and they'll be reasonably happy in a game that was good to watch with the Serbian players also 'giving a good account of themselves'. It must be well over three years since Brazil lost a match and one can see why that is with the array of world class talent at the manager's disposal.

I think the spell of Serbian pressure in the second half showed that Brazil can be got at and put under pressure defensively. Serbia didn’t have the final quality to hurt them but a better team will.
With how Mexico play (fast attacks and fluid movement from the front 4), I think Mexico should cause Brazil plenty of problems defensively especially in the wide areas. I don’t think Mexico have enough to beat Brazil (unless Layun, Vela, Lozano and Hernandez are on top form) but they should give them a game.

Brazil look like the side to beat for anyone who wants to win it. I think they will beat mexico comfortably.

Yep! I agree. It looks like the 'Brazil engine' is starting to 'tune in'! We'll see if that is the case v Mexico. I reckon they have a 'point to prove' and it emanates back to their record 1-7 thrashing by Germany in 2014.

They have certainly been the most consistent of the favoured teams but I still think they are vulnerable at the back and as Switzerland showed, if you can restrict Neymar they seem to struggle. This is the most open WC for a while, still no big favorite and it seems any team can be beaten if they have an off day.

Note they have only conceded 6 x goals in 23 matches. Also I think most teams in this tourney are defensively vulnerable from what I've observed - makes for a better competition and lotsa goals conceded.
