Robson in the rain: Goodison Park, September 1981

It's always the way. You wait five months for a win, and then... three come along at once?

We're not quite there yet, but this Saturday we venture up to Goodison Park with two consecutive wins under our belt, and a manager with a long history of turning wins into streaks. To be honest, we could probably do with it. Despite an excellent and well-deserved win against Brighton, our overall position hasn't improved, and we're going to need to keep churning out the same if we're ultimately to survive.

My personal feeling, even during the autumn, was that Everton had a team good enough to beat the drop even under Koeman. However, Sam Allardyce has unquestionably taken that side and made it one of the real form teams of the league, and it'll be a massive test for Albion to get through. A defeat would be a real setback, and one we can ill afford. A draw would be acceptable, and keep us treading water. But after an awful 2017, could we perhaps get the ball rolling now with three in three?

I hope that this week's tragedy has touched this present group of players and they now somehow realise the depth of feeling that the supporters and the the club had for each other in the late 70's- and is still partly there from 1 direction at least.
Lets hope they can feed off the energy and do him, them, and us proud

PS - Johnny Evans's last game for us, I can feel it......

I'd stick my neck out and say we are more than capable of getting a draw here, were stubborn, their not firing on all cylinders having not won in 5 in the league, I'd be disappointed on current form to lose to be fair what with the Regis effect! That said when we play a team on a bad run, we often appear to be the gift that keeps on giving so a 2-1 home win is not beyond the realms. Come on Albion, lets keep that mean defensive streak and go and get something from this game, with Citeh away next and a trip to scouse land in the cup, Southampton at home in 2 weeks looks an age away.
