CAR CRASH - Devongone - 23-10-2017

Real one rather than the entire season.

Jordan Flores involved.

No further news at the moment.

RE: CAR CRASH - spireitematt - 23-10-2017

Read that on Bob's Board. Hope he's ok.

RE: CAR CRASH - Devongone - 23-10-2017

Lots of guesswork and speculation on Bob's as usual. We'll just have to wait.

RE: CAR CRASH - bluepooch - 23-10-2017

You would have thought something official would have come out by now

RE: CAR CRASH - Devongone - 24-10-2017

I don't expect much, but surely someone from the club has been to the hospital. If they don't know the full extent of his injuries yet, if the police are still investigating the crash, we might know that everyone's good wishes have been passed on to him, that they'd keep fans updated when possible .......... something like that, some of it ......... Apparently he's been tweeting likes for the good wishes on Twitter if that's true.

Blame, the law and personal medical details aren't part of this. He's our player, even if he is loaned. At the level of simple human decency you would expect Chesterfield to be capable of more than a two-line statement over thirty hours after the incident, if only to explain why it can't say more. (You know just so it doesn't look as though no-one gives a flying fkkkkkk.)

Being crap at everything is the reason we're currently the worst club in the EFL.

RE: CAR CRASH - bluepooch - 24-10-2017

Id have thought the new CEO would be overseeing the PR for this .Not that the focus should be on the club at this time but Flores' welfare.

RE: CAR CRASH - Devongone - 25-10-2017

I agree. I thought Mr Dunford had more oil in his lamp.

Just read the update. It must be difficult to write about someone involved in a car crash and to avoid any impression of warmth, fellow-feeling or caring. But we managed it! Being transferred to Sheffield isn't good news, but there are specialist facilities.

Would it be too much to sound as though we cared about Jordan and his family?

RE: CAR CRASH - Devongone - 25-10-2017

From the BBC

"Footballer Jordan Flores may need surgery after he was involved in a car crash in Derbyshire, the BBC understands.
The Chesterfield FC midfielder was in a crash with another car on Baslow Road, Chesterfield, on Monday morning.
Doctors are to decide whether the 22-year-old, who is in a "stable condition" at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield, will need surgery."

I don't want to intrude on Jordan's medical details. I just want us (Chesterfield) to adopt a voice with a hint of humanity in it. He might as well be an android .....

RE: CAR CRASH - Devongone - 25-10-2017

And Wigan's statement is little better. What is wrong with these people, were they off sick when joined-up writing started?

Certainly they are terrified of anything with any hint of humanity about it.

When we find some real people, we'll ask them to contact you.

RE: CAR CRASH - Devongone - 15-11-2017

Apparently Jordan has been allowed home now - fractured vertebrae?

Apparently all our players have been visiting him. Jack has been virtually every day ...... And Wigan, players, Chairman and Cookie have all been turning up, which is nice to hear.

Obviously his recovery is not going to be a speedy process, but after a head-on crash I imagine you're grateful recovery itself is on the menu.

Best wishes to him.
