Rangers falter again! It's Motherwell in the Betfred Cup final! - 0762 - 22-10-2017

Well done to the 'Steelmen' with a well deserved 2-0 semi-final win over the Rangers with a great second goal scored by Moult! The number of apologies on bbc Sportsound, re the Hun apoplectic behaviour/swearing during the live commentary at Hampden, was priceless and sums up the 'fall from grace' of these past perennial winners of trophies but now 'very sore losers' AGAIN. It makes for a good non Rangers v Celtic final which the media were clearly 'rooting for' in the way they kept highlighting Rangers and Celtic's presence while Hibs and Motherwell appeared to be of less importance in the way the semi-finals were advertised! Rolleyes
I can't see the Hoops losing this final TBF and it's turned out to be a great end pairing in the final from a Celtic point of view. Another domestic 'treble' beckons!??

To be fair, a Celtic v Rangers final is a money spinner for the media compared to any permutation, especially with all the crap surrounding Rangers on and off the pitch!! Celtic v Motherwell may actually be a better game and maybe even a closer one, but it won't sell tickets or advertising or put people in front of tv screen compared to Celtic v Rangers.

IMO the more 'other Scottish footie teams' that participate in the domestic cup finals. the better, and the additional revenue occasionally goes to these clubs and not towards both Rangers and Celtic on a regular basis like 'the bad old days' of the now defunct Old Firm! It's not perfect but it's certainly more healthy for the game and that undeserving 'toxic brand' that is Rangers FC can be tucked away from the biased media and other parties who are still part of the 'Rangers appreciation society' that still hovers around Scottish footie and continues to conveniently ignore all the 'shit' that sticks to said toxic brand!

They’ve lost every single meaningful game since they came into the top flight. It's no surprise they lost that tie,but no surprise thats the old firm tie is the one BT wanted.

Motherwell were very unlucky to lose to them in the opening game of the season,so i had a wee punt on them today. Nice.

Aye! It's a bet I forgot about altogether as I fancied the 'Steelmen' for this tie as they've been in fine form. I'd also add that the Scottish ref controversy 'never goes away' after another ignored incident with Alves lashing out at Moult in the dying mins of this match and not receiving any card whatsoever! Doh Moult also very lucky to stay on the pitch as well but given a yellow card by a doughnut of a referee, McLean, + 2× ARs who must have seen this misdemeanour! We need a video ref set up and quick!!

the ref yesterday was abysmal
how bowman stayed on is shocking
Same as Alves trying to knee Moult in the head then kicking out at him and not even a booking.

The SFA has to do something to raise the standards
As to motherwell they are a typical Scottish team bug strong and full of kickers, terrible way to play football
