RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - consilio - 12-09-2014 Gardner snapped his Achilles so that's nothing to do with the physios. Kieran Lee is just one of those players that will be injured a high percentage of the time. Of you remember, when we signed him there was complications surrounding his medical. I though Alan Smith and his son were still at Wednesday? The whole point of Injury Prevention is is to make ligaments & tendons more flexible so they don't snap. I think officially, they are consultants now but the Injury Prevention has stopped. RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - consilio - 12-09-2014 Gardner is another that's been injured throughout his career. If you buy injury prone players then you have to expect them to spend time in the treatment room RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - madsteve - 12-09-2014 (12-09-2014, 15:53)consilio Wrote: Gardner is another that's been injured throughout his career. My point is that we should do more to reduce preventable injuries. RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - consilio - 12-09-2014 But nobody knows what the medical team are upto. That's my point. They could have already prevent numerous injuries this year but we would never find out about that RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - madsteve - 12-09-2014 (12-09-2014, 17:50)consilio Wrote: But nobody knows what the medical team are upto. That's my point. They could have already prevent numerous injuries this year but we would never find out about that When Lee Strafford brought in the new medical team, there were two "Injury Prevention" guys who did particular stretching exercises with all the players to to make their muscles, ligaments & tendons more flexible. This stopped nearly two years ago & the players don't do the injury prevention exercises. The medical team might do a decent job with injuries but it is far better to put the work in to prevent them in the first place. RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - consilio - 12-09-2014 Wednesday still have an injury prevention coach. He takes the players for the stretching etc before and after training. I also know that the squad have regular yoga and reflexology sessions RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - Maddix - 12-09-2014 I think we should issue Hi-vis vests They prevent all sorts of injuries RE: Sheff Weds 2014-15 - The First Half - madsteve - 13-09-2014 (12-09-2014, 20:21)consilio Wrote: Wednesday still have an injury prevention coach.
